Tampere, Finland – “A Knife in the Water” for violin/cello – Dennis Kim, Tampere Philharmonic chamber music series
This is my Finnish debut! Dennis Kim, concertmaster of the Tampere Philharmonic in Finland will perform the violin/cello duet I wrote for him at his annual chamber music recital. This concert is a part of the Tampere Philharmonic’s chamber music series. The cello part will be played by Reinis Birznieks from the orchestra’s cello section, and the concert also features Peter Jablonski on the piano.
This piece has already had a rich life with performances at the Bowdoin International Music Festival’s Gamper Festival of Contemporary Music in Brunswick, Maine and by NYC’s Cadillac Moon Ensemble, Syzygy new music collective and my Circles and Lines composer collective. It has also been broadcast on NYC radio station WQXR’s “Q2″ new music podcast.
The program also includes works by Mozart, Ravel, Beethoven and Prevost.
