Patti Kilroy
Originally from Homestead, Florida, violinist Patti Kilroy is interested in a wide array of musical styles. Equally at home in alternative, classical, folk and the musical theater worlds, Patti is an active member of several New York-based ensembles devoted to the performance of contemporary music, including flute-violin-cello percussion quartet Cadillac Moon Ensemble, the Nouveau Classical Project, ensemble mise-en, and the NFO. Patti has also appeared as a performer with various ensembles based in the New York City area including Alarm Will Sound, Ensemble Signal, Argento New Music Project, Wordless Music Orchestra, the Knights, One World Symphony, This Ambitious Orchestra, The New York Chamber Virtuosi, rock guitarist Dan Teicher’s Vices and Vines String Quartet and the NFO.
Patti is a frequent session musician, having recorded and premiered music by contemporary composers, especially members of the New York Times acclaimed Circles and Lines composers’ collective: Noam Faingold, Conrad Winslow, Angelica Negron, Eric Lemmon and Dylan Glatthorn. Her quartet Cadillac Moon Ensemble just completed a recording residency at Indiana University-Southeast, where they recorded their first album “Atlas” under the New Dynamic Records label. Patti has also worked with live-composition collective Blind Ear Music, NYU-based W4 New Music Collective, and Detour New Music Collective.
Her musical adventures have taken her to many festivals and workshops throughout the world, including the Bang on a Can Music Festival, EEFC Balkan Music and Dance Workshops, the NYU Intensive String Quartet Workshop, Jazz Peru Internacional and even to the silent film orchestra at the Tribeca Film Festival. Patti currently studies with Naoko Tanaka (Orchestra of St. Luke’s, Orpheus Chamber Orchestra), and has also studied with Anton Miller and Guangshu Song.
