Sweden – “Sunrise” for string orchestra – Jönköpings Sinfonietta

[ April 1, 2012; 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm. 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm. ] This is my Swedish debut!

The Jönköpings Sinfonietta, will perform my “Sunrise” for strings orchestra, along with Osvaldo Golijov’s nonet “Last Round,” and also works by Pergolesi,  W Stenhammar and, S-E Johansson.

The concert takes place in the concert hall in the town of Jönköping, near Gothenburg, at 6 pm, with a pre-concert talk at 5:15 pm.

NYC – New York University – lecture/workshop on pop strings performance

[ February 22, 2012; 2:00 pm to 3:15 pm. ] I will be the guest at the NYU weekly undergraduate strings seminar. I will give an interactive workshop/masterclass on performing orchestral pop music, and adapting chamber music techniques and ideas to a pop context.

Unfortunately, this event is not open to the public.

NYC – violin/cello duet – Cadillac Moon Ensemble

[ February 17, 2012; 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. ] Violinist Patti Kilroy and cellist Mike Midlarsky (both of whom play in my rock orchestra) will play my violin cello duet “A Knife in the Water” at Greenwhich House in the West Village in Manhattan NYC. This concert is a fundraiser concert for their new music ensemble, the Cadillac Moon Ensemble, and will also feature [...]
